The review --

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I’m so glad I did.  It’s such a cute little story.

The story is about a cloud who falls asleep and gets blown away to other parts unknown to him. He ends up in the desert and is excited to meet new friends. He finds a cactus family, a snake, and a lady making iced tea. He tries to cover them with his shade. However, they don’t want anything to do with him.  He is blocking their sun.

The lost little cloud doesn’t understand why they don’t want his shade. He continues floating along until he finds some people that can appreciate him. He is so excited to find new friends.

 

This book was well written with wonderful pictures. It’s a great book to read to a child. I think this would be one that they would want to hear over and over again.

The review --

This book is a post apocalyptic story where the main character is trying to save the human race. I really enjoyed the morals that were in the story. One of them is how even in rough/ horrible times, some people still try to be human. Another one is how even though one makes a mistake, they can come back from it.         

This book, for me, wasn't slow at all, and just kept me on the edge of my seat till I finished the book. I really don't recall any slow parts in the book at all. The are some parts where people get hurt, but the author did not go into much description about what happened to them. I really like that it was up to the readers imagination to fill in those parts.        

The was a twist at the end that really caught me off guard the first time through, but when I reread the story, I was able to see foreshadowing for the twist. Loved it!!

The review --

Ah! Such a fantastic read, as I’ve come to expect from JL Beck! I’m a big fan of the kingpin series and an even bigger fan of the bittersweet series, so my excitement level was near a 10 with the start of this book, and JL Beck definitely does not disappoint. I laughed out loud from the very first page. I just love this author's writing, flow, and character development. This series is a crossover from the two original series centering around Alzerro’s daughter from the kingpin series and Corey’s son from the Bittersweet series.

Gia King is ready to get out and experience life away from her father’s watchful eyes, so she packs up and heads for Auburn University. Chase Winchester is Auburn’s notorious playboy with an attitude to match. The attraction between the two is immediate, but Gia isn’t willing to have a one night stand and doesn’t think that Chase would possibly be interested in more. When Gia’s father catches them in a compromising position and Gia blurts that Chase is her boyfriend, things get really interesting.

I really enjoyed the passion and emotion written into this book. It’s definitely one you won’t want to put down once you’ve started reading. I can’t wait for the next installment. Bravo JL Beck!

The review --

The book was beautifully written. The characters were very well developed and the settings were wonderfully described. The storyline on the other hand just was not my cup of tea. This book is about a girl finally going home after ten years away, with limited contact with those from her old town. Throughout the book, Maddie goes through a thrill wind of issues and emotions to finally fix issues that were long overdue for fixing. There is more descriptive sex in this book than I care to read, so being honest, I just skimmed over those pages.

The review --

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I was very impressed.  The characters were so real in this book that I truly felt as if I was right there with them. Cami and Reese make a great team. I loved following their story as they got to know each other better, and the circumstances they got into. This book has tons of action and I was sucked in right at the beginning. This book held my attention all the way through and I could not believe the ending. The author totally left us hanging, ready for the next book. I love cliffhanger books like this. The action in this book was intense; the connection between Reese and Cami was super hot, and once they got together…watch out.  I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens to them now. I highly recommend this book to vampire lovers everywhere. It’s great and I should mention there are a lot of funny parts as well. Cami is a real butt-kicker of a character and that is awesome!

The review --

This is a book that sucks you in from the very first page – I loved it! Danae “Dani” Espinoza has moved to California to start her life over after being raised in a really rough childhood. Dani is feisty and is carrying around a big secret from her past that we don’t find out about until the very end of the book. After moving, Dani meets Ricca a bartender who takes Dani under her wing and gets her a job at the bar she works at. Little does Dani know, the bar that she’s working in is an MC bar and in walks Hero, VP of the Heavens Rejects MC. The minute eye contact is made, the sparks fly and Hero becomes completely obsessed with having Dani.

I really enjoyed that it’s written in dual POV. That’s my favorite way to read a book because I feel you get so much more of the story. Hero is a total prick at the beginning of the book, like I wanted him to get hit by a car… but somehow the author manages to make us fall in love with him by the end! This book is absolutely hysterical, I literally had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I cannot wait for book 2!

The review --

This story is a murder mystery with a few twists and turns to make things intriguing. The storyline and characters were well developed. In most instances, I could clearly visualize the settings and characters. There were a few moments when the characters were not described at all, so it was left to my opinion on how they would look. The editing needs to be relooked at, as some of the words were wrong for the sentence or just misspelled.
