About the book:
Spencer helps a friend, Cassie Vance, inspect an old lake house her family inherited. They find it broken into, with no power or phones, and begin to see shadows and hear unexplained noises. The friends decide to leave the dark and eerie place for a motel until the power is restored. With the Jeep somehow disabled, and the occupants vulnerable, the lake dweller makes himself known. They had no idea that this man had anxiously awaited Cassie’s visit.

My review:
The Lake Dweller is a story about a young man who, after agreeing to help his friend Cassie fix up her deceased uncle’s house, meets an unsavory character who has been unknowingly living there. This “Lake Dweller” threatens the safety of anyone who enters the house. This includes a mysterious boy who has been mistreated by the evil stranger.
Unlike your typical horror movies when the victims decide to handle the dangerous situation by themselves, the characters respond intelligently by calling the police. Readers will enjoy a tale of two brave heroes who risk their safety by helping a homeless boy face a malicious old man.
Opinions*
Readability: The Lake Dweller was a page-turner and I did not want to put it down.
Characters: The characters were both interesting and realistic.
Plot: The plot didn't drag on for too long and was full of mystery and adventure. There was nothing in the story that seemed unneeded.
Stand Alone: Although this book is the fourth in the series, this story can be read apart from the others.
