Book Review of – Guardian of Maradon by LJ Capehart
My overall star rating -- from 1-5
About the book:
Trina, a dreamer, finds her Guardian to save her world. Can Tristan, a college boy, rise to the challenge to save her world and her? A sweet love story with a determined hero and a splash of magic.
Tristan Daniels finds himself magically transported to a world that he knows nothing about. The same can't be said for those he meets in this strange world, though. They all seem to know who he is, and have high expectations for him. As Tristan travels with Jacob and his son, Kinnead, he begins to discover many things about both this world, and himself. As chosen Guardian of the people of Maradon, he MUST find the magical sword that only he can wield, before he is found by the enemies of Maradon. But finding the sword is only the beginning!
My 5 point review:
-1- The Storyline of the book is well thought out and interesting.
-2- The characters are loveable well used and balanced,
-3- I appreciated the violence wasn’t to graphic
-4- For a YA book it was nice that there wasn’t any inappropriate behavior between the heroes, I would definitely allow a younger audience to read this story.
-5- The book had so much potential but I was just a bit disappointed as it could have been really amazing it has all the right elements it just came off a little bit flat and rushed. It needed better character representation and emotions of the character and their interactions.
As mentioned the story line moved very quickly important events were rushed through or skipped over, more time spent on these would have really finished the book off nicely.
