Review: No Direction Home

No Direction Home No Direction Home by Jude Willhoff
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well, I gave this book a try. I really did. I got through into chapter 7 before I dumped it and moved on to another book. While I sympathize with the author, and living with chronic pain, it's not something I want to read about in my fictional novel. And the character was always going on about her condition, what she can do, what she can't do, etc.

NOW, before you jump on my case, I TOO LIVE WITH CHRONIC PAIN. Plus, I have other chronic health issues. I keep a medicine log in the form of a small notebook where I write down all the medicine that I take on a daily basis. So yes, I understand this all too well.

I know about what I can and can't do. I LIVE WITH THAT ON A DAILY BASIS. I live with what I can and can't eat. I live with trying to control my pain.

BUT IT'S NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO READ ABOUT!
I LIVE WITH IT!
And I certainly don't want to read about it in my fictional novel I pick up.
I gave the book a try.

Maybe if you don't live with any chronic health issues, and are a healthy so and so, maybe you can find this book interesting. I do live with chronic health issues and did not find it interesting.

Review: Ghosts in Glass Houses

Ghosts in Glass Houses Ghosts in Glass Houses by Kay Charles
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a very FUN read! (:-) I really enjoyed it. All the ghosts just add to the fun. It's a hoot, her dealing with all these ghosts talking to her, while she's trying to not let people know she can see and hear them. It's got great characters, an awesome story, and a heck of a mystery that will keep you guessing till the very end.

Good solid romance book, and I enjoyed it. I've read another book in this series I believe. This book has good characters, great setting, and good solid story. A good romance book to curl up with.

Sorry, but this book just didn't grab me. It resorted to sex right at the beginning, which I didn't care for. But this book just never got my attention.

Review: Dark Deceit

Dark Deceit Dark Deceit by Cathie Dunn
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The heroine in this book is pathetically dismal and spineless, always choosing the wrong guy. The hero is the only reason that I skimmed through the book at all. And he's not anything to write home about. I mean, he's okay, but nothing special. The story isn't all that great either. And be forewarned, the book starts out with a rather gruesome scene.

Review: Jameson: Brothers Ink Tattoo

Jameson: Brothers Ink Tattoo Jameson: Brothers Ink Tattoo by Nicole James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just recently, I reviewed another tattoo parlor romance book, and I gave it low ratings. The difference between that book and this one is like daylight and dark. This book is SOOOO MUCH BETTER than the other one. I didn't care for the other book, but I LOVED THIS ONE! The characters were wonderful, and the story rocks! The romance between Ava and Jameson is almost hate at first sight, but they warm up to each other. You get to know Jameson's brothers. It's simply an awesome read.

Review: A Scone to Die for

A Scone to Die for A Scone to Die for by H.Y. Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the first one in the series, but there is a prequel book that you must read before this one. It sets everything up for you. But this book, IT'S AWESOME! I love this series, and she is one of my favorite writers. Grab this whole series if you like cozy mysteries. It's a great one that is fun to read with awesome mysteries that will leave you guessing until the very end.

All-Butter ShortDead All-Butter ShortDead by H.Y. Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I like this author a lot. I've read other of her books, and she always does a good job. Good solid characters and a kicking story each time. But, she excels at writing cozy mysteries, which is a new fave of mine. This book launches the Oxford Tearoom Mysteries series. If you like cozy mysteries, then you'll want to check out this series. I loved it! It's great! This would make an awesome Hallmark Mystery channel series.

Review: Forever and Ever Boxed Set: Books 1-3

Forever and Ever Boxed Set: Books 1-3 Forever and Ever Boxed Set: Books 1-3 by E.L. Todd
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Well, if you like reading about rich, privileged, spoiled brats, then this book is for you. But, prepare to be bored, because it just chronicles their everyday life. I bailed on the book because I was so bored with the story. The characters aren't particularly likeable, and aren't anyone most people would relate to. I kept waiting for the story to pick up and catch my interest, but it never did.

Review: Sentinel: Bravo Bear

Sentinel: Bravo Bear Sentinel: Bravo Bear by Amelia Jade
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I must say, I didn't finish this one. It is filled with violence and that's just not my cup of tea. When Connor isn't lusting after the girl, then he's killing someone; and the author gives some rather gruesome details of this. So I bailed on this book. Yes, I've read a lot of paranormal romance novels, and let me say - this one was definitely more violent than most. Not a book I would recommend.

Review: Into the Light

Into the Light Into the Light by Tami Lund
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This one is a good read, and a different take on your paranormal romance story. The characters are interesting and so is the story. I like this book, and enjoyed it. But is does have a bit of a depressing part at the beginning. But don't let that put you off as it is a good book.

Review: Men of Inked Series

Men of Inked Series Men of Inked Series by Chelle Bliss
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The only reason I skimmed through and completed this set is that the author created some interesting characters. BUT, it's filled with swear words and foul language and sex scenes. If you take out all the sex scenes, you would cut the book in about half. Then, if you took out all the foul language, that would take away another third of the book. So there isn't much left. Shame the author didn't leave all that stuff out and do more with the interesting characters that she created.

Review: Romancing Redemption

Romancing Redemption Romancing Redemption by Bonnie R. Paulson
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Obviously, I didn't care for this book. It has stuff in it that really oughtn't be written in a book. If you want to be depressed and read about twisted human beings who like to abuse women, then this is the book for you. Really, I don't think it's a book for anyone.

Review: How to Marry a Cowboy

How to Marry a Cowboy How to Marry a Cowboy by Carolyn Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I got this book as part of a 2 book set I snagged free on Amazon. But this book was so good that I had to give it a review of it's own. It has the most hilarious beginning of any book I've ever read and will totally rope you in right from the start. And the laughs and humor don't stop there. The 2 little girls, and the goats, and ..... etc. keep the humor going throughout the book. And, it has the sweetest ending you'd ever want to read, right out of a fairytale or something. This is really a gem of a book that you should put on your to read list. It's tons of fun to read.

How to Marry a Cowboy / Reckless in Texas How to Marry a Cowboy / Reckless in Texas by Carolyn Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a really good set, and both books are very good. Me personally, I liked the first one best, because it has the most wonderful humor in it. It actually had me laughing, something a book rarely does. The second book is also very good too, but more about 2 people lusting after each other for a lot of the book. The set is well worth your time to read though.

Contemporary Cowboy Romance 3 Book Box Set Contemporary Cowboy Romance 3 Book Box Set by Amelia Rose
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The first book in this box set is the absolute best - it's a 5 star book. Great characters, great story, absolutely awesome.

The other 2 books, they're okay, not great, both good 3 star books each.

The set is worth it for the first book alone, and since the other 2 books aren't bad, it makes for a solid box set well worth getting.

Review: Wild Heart: A BBW Paranormal Shifter Romance

Wild Heart: A BBW Paranormal Shifter Romance Wild Heart: A BBW Paranormal Shifter Romance by Freya Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a very good book, and I enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately a lot of paranormal romance novels are sex focused, with not a lot of romance or character development. Such is not the case in this book. The characters are great and the story is absolutely awesome. I highly recommend this book to any romance fan out there.
