No Direction Home by Jude WillhoffMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
Well, I gave this book a try. I really did. I got through into chapter 7 before I dumped it and moved on to another book. While I sympathize with the author, and living with chronic pain, it's not something I want to read about in my fictional novel. And the character was always going on about her condition, what she can do, what she can't do, etc.
NOW, before you jump on my case, I TOO LIVE WITH CHRONIC PAIN. Plus, I have other chronic health issues. I keep a medicine log in the form of a small notebook where I write down all the medicine that I take on a daily basis. So yes, I understand this all too well.
I know about what I can and can't do. I LIVE WITH THAT ON A DAILY BASIS. I live with what I can and can't eat. I live with trying to control my pain.
BUT IT'S NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO READ ABOUT!
I LIVE WITH IT!
And I certainly don't want to read about it in my fictional novel I pick up.
I gave the book a try.
Maybe if you don't live with any chronic health issues, and are a healthy so and so, maybe you can find this book interesting. I do live with chronic health issues and did not find it interesting.
