The Secrets of Egypt
(Adventure series Book 5) by Roger
Grubbs
Overall star rating

About the book:
Egypt holds a vast
amount of hidden treasures, and two prominent archeologists, Dr. Andrew Rogers
and Dr. Kathleen Mcgregor have been successful in uncovering many of them. Now
their former students are putting into action their skills. But, when compared
to Dr. Rogers, they are still novices and prone to making mistakes. Dr. Julie
Freeman leads an expedition of seven on a dangerous, mysterious journey in
hopes of finding King Solomon's treasures. Believing those items have been
purchased by the ancient Pharaoh of Egypt in hopes of bringing wealth and good
fortune to his own empire, Julie enters a risky opening in the pyramid. Soon
the party becomes trapped and can only meander through the tunnels inside until
Dr. Rogers comes to their rescue. However, finding that secret escape route
soon becomes a seemingly impossible task even for him. Their only hope is to
piece together events that occurred more than 3,000 years ago. Those shocking
revelations come to light as they travel back in time to examine The Secrets of
Egypt. However, what they find has consequences, and sacrifices must be made.
With time running out, Dr. Rogers put to use his unique method in a frantic
attempt to rescue his friends. But, will it be enough to save
them?

The review --
This is the first book
that I have read by this author, and when I found out that it was book number
5, I was shocked. It definitely can be read as a standalone. This book is full
of excitement and adventure, along with some mystery, and a little romance. I
read it in one sitting. I didn't want to stop reading because I just had to
know what would happen next.
Following the journey
of the girls and the ones that were trying to find them was great. Five girls
ended up trapped in a pyramid; then others went in to find them. Honestly, it
was like reading an Indiana Jones book.
There are some twists
and turns in this book that made it even more exciting. Also, up until the very
end, I wasn't sure how it was going to end, and I was very pleased with the
outcome. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to reading more by this
author.
