The review --
This is a book of
battles and violence with definite religious overtones. There are elves and
dwarves, and orcs and ogres, and humans and more, plus an evil dragon. Also, it
is a very intense one book.
It is well written,
with good descriptions of the characters and the landscape, without bogging the
book down. It all blends and flows together well. The author has put in a wide
range of fantasy creatures, save for fairies and unicorns.
There is a large cast
of characters which to follow. There are battles from the beginning of the
book, through to the end of the book, with few lapses between battles. Those
lapses are either retreating from a battle or preparing for one. It doesn't
really have a happily ever after ending, but the good guys do win.
